David Lacombled Elected President of CESP

CESP’s Board of Directors has elected David Lacombled as President of CESP. He succeeds Pierre Conte, who has completed two consecutive three-year terms and is therefore no longer eligible for re-election under the association’s statutes.

David Lacombled is President of La Villa numeris. He is the author of Digital Citizen: Manifesto for Digital Citizenship (Plon) and Being Informed Tomorrow: Fighting the Fake News Virus (Éditions de l’Observatoire). He writes a weekly column for L’Opinion and is a regular contributor on B Smart TV. He also serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of ECPAD (French Defence Audiovisual Communication and Production Agency) within the Ministry of the Armed Forces, and is a board member of both AFP (Agence France-Presse) and CELSA Sorbonne Université.

Following his election, David Lacombled stated: “I am delighted and honoured by the trust that has been placed in me. I look forward to working alongside all media stakeholders to help build robust and reliable measurement systems in an increasingly fragmented market, where AI is creating new frontiers while raising unprecedented challenges. More than ever, media measurement and its independent audit contribute to the trust that is essential for informed public debate and the circulation of information.”

The General Assembly, which was also held on 11th June, approved the renewal of the mandates of the Board members whose terms had expired.
